Jackson County Correctional Institution operates a 14 bed Transition Center offering offenders from our judicial circuit the opportunity to work a public job in the community, save money and participate in cognitive behavior based programs while preparing for release. Offenders in this program must be within 36 months of release and have an approved parole address inside the Piedmont Judicial Circuit. Offenders will work toward program requirements while assigned to an outside work detail. Upon reaching their 18-month mark, they will be permitted to obtain employment and begin the transition process.
