Poll Workers

The Jackson County Board of Elections and Voter Registration is seeking motivated people, who can endure long hours (6 a.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m.), to work as Poll Officials for the upcoming election. All workers are required to attend a 2-hour training class required for all Poll Workers prior to each election. 

To be a Poll Official, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Resident of Jackson County
  • 16 years of age or older
  • a Registered Voter (if 18 years or older)
  • Able to write and speak the English Language
  • Have no prior felony convictions for at least 10 years
  • Have basic computer skills

Poll Officials are expected to assist with poling place set up and clean up. Poll Officials will be working closely with the public and must have a courteous, patient, and friendly attitude.
