Mission

Provide primary prevention through a combination of surveillance, education, enforcement, and assessment programs designed to identify and abate the environmental conditions that adversely impact human health. Monitor and ensure compliance with the various Local and State Environmental Health programs including: Food Service, Land Use (On-Site Sewage), Tourist Accommodations, Public Swimming Pools/Spas, Rabies and Tattoo Facilities.

Inspectors

Inspectors are available M-F between 8:30AM-10AM for meetings, questions, etc. After 10AM inspectors are generally in the field conducting inspections. Please call the office to schedule a meeting or ask questions.

Provided Services:

Our office provides the following services for Jackson County:

  • Restaurant inspections, permitting, and SCORES
  • Septic inspections and permitting
  • Existing system evaluations
  • Public swimming pool inspections and permitting
  • Hotel/Motel Inspections and permitting
  • Rabies: This office works with animal control & local veterinary offices to test for rabies in cases of human or domestic animal exposure.
  • Tattoos & body art inspections and permitting
