In conjunction with Northeast Georgia Medical, Jackson County Paramedics are now better equipped and ready to handle your heart attack. A STEMI is a medical acronym for a specific type of heart attack that is evident to Paramedics when they obtain a 12-lead ECG from a person having a suspected heart attack. In our new protocol, Paramedics have begun carrying and using two new medications that will help prevent further damage from occurring to the heart in a heart attack. Typically, patients would have to wait until they arrive at the hospital before they received these new medications but not anymore in Jackson County. As our service moves forward, so does the care that we are able to provide to our patients.
